Update site from mysql to mysqli

Hi,

I have a site that I built way back in the late 2000's using the normal server behaviours. I know that it will need to be updated to use MySQLi. I own all your extensions including the MySQLi one.

My question is, how easy is it up update the site. Is there a step by step guide to doing it? The site is a dymaic one with lot's of database tables (it's for a town council), it's full if council members, committee members, minutes of meetings and page content.

Any help and pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

John
