add shipping cost variable per additional item

Hi Ray. As we spoke of, I would like to add a shipping cost variable to a item that if someone order item "A", the flat ship is $10. If they order 2 of that item, then the shipping is $7 per item, and 3rd item is $6 per item for example. This way, there would not be a $30 flat fee charge.

Also, Is it possible to add a "shipping estimate" function on the checkout page where the customer can put in the postal code and it gets the estimate BEFORE they are directed to paypal. This will greatly reduce cart abandonment.

I am cool to pay for these additions in premium support
