dynamic list not working correctly when viewing results, details pages

using the database page creation option, fill in all the details,when i need to create a dynamic list

change the text field to list , using the lighting bolt fill in the details of the database to use for the list, then generate the pages

insert - shows list, make selection- nothing retained
all other pages not showing anything

ising the sharp preset the update button shows ok in dw but when previwing in safari its dark gray

have i done something wrong
