Quotation Marks cause Value to disappear
I am having a problem when someone enters Double Quotation marks around a title in an input form.
Update Form example:
<input type="text" name="title" id="title" size="50" value="<?php echo($rsCatalog->getColumnVal("title")); ?>" >
In the above if "Example 1" is the value in the DB it will not display while Example 1 will.
Same on the Detail Page:
Even though the title (value) is properly inserted into the DB it does not display on the detail page and instead returns a blank or empty value - i.e. the quotation marks cause the value to not display.
<?php echo($rsCatalog->getColumnVal("title")); ?>" />
Thanks for your help.
.---------------- UPDATE Problem Solved ----------------
I discovered that if I use single quotation marks (an apostrophe ) instead of ( " ) in certain code lines then I do not have the problem.
Old Example: <input type="text" name="title" id="title" size="50" value="<?php echo($rsCatalog->getColumnVal("title")); ?>" >
New Example: <input type="text" name="title" id="title" size="50" value='<?php echo($rsCatalog->getColumnVal("title")); ?>' >
or this
OLD: <a href="../upload/katalog/<?php echo($rsCatalog->getColumnVal("image")); ?>"
title="<?php echo($rsCatalog->getColumnVal("title")); ?>" >
NEW: <a href="../upload/katalog/<?php echo($rsCatalog->getColumnVal("image")); ?>"
title='<?php echo($rsCatalog->getColumnVal("title")); ?>' >
Thanks for your attention.
