Server Validation failing, correction made, but then still failing?

Server Validation failing, correction made, but then still failing?

It's like it's holding the failed validation in cache and is not letting a corrected entry through:

This relates to the Enquiry field which I have set up with Alphanumeric validation with additional characters, such as ,.'-"? etc allowed.
I tried submitting this:

Hi Brenda. Can you let me know when you'll next be available in the office as I need to speak to you about our outstanding invoice? Thank you. Regards

I have ? listed in my list of allowable characters, I also have , and . allowed - still it fails. So I remove those, all characters in fact, and it still fails.
