Can't access Validation Show if Settings

Can't create new Validation Show if

A problem I have had frequently with accessing 'Validation Show if' is that it hasn't always accepted the selection and I get the error message - 'Before inserting this item, make a selection on the page'. As if nothing is selected, and when I try a second time it worked. But now I can't access it at all and permanently get the error message. I always select the item last from the tag selector just to make sure, I have tried re-booting Databridge and still I can't resolve the fault. This is only a problem with creating a new Show if behaviour. I can access a current Show if behaviour just fine. I have had issues similar to this with other functions before which was caused by DW updates. I am currently on CC 2014.1. Any ideas?
