New CSS rule Dreamweaver

I am using Dreamweaver CS4 and find that after writing a couple or so of rules, the 'Rule Definition' drop-down in the CSS rule dialogue box offers only two choices -
This document only or
New Stylesheet.

As you will appreciate, when using WA extensions, there may be quite a few CSS style sheets as well as what I have initiated, but it reverts to the above an immense amount of the time. The only way I can then pick up the stylesheet I require, is to close Dreamweaver and start over.

I've looked in the Edit - Preferences and cannot find anything in there to help.

Has anyone any help to offer?

I've been using Dreamweaver for years and haven't come across this problem!

TIA
