Add updateable quantity field to basket

I have searched through the forums and not found an answer so far. I am using eCart 6 (latest version) and I want to add an updateable quantity field to the basket screen. I added the field using the 'Updateable text field' option from the eCart menu, but when I change the quantity and click update on the basket screen page reloads and the quantity goes back to 1. I have attached a copy of the basket page.

Any help is appreciated.
