Doing some testing - media queries

So I am fiddling with a solution. Keep PG for the admin niceties, but then repurpose the db to meet single image display on phones. I have a test page that is working fine to show all photos, titles, desciptions in the database, and sorting by gallery ID.

But so far, so good.

Where I am still in noodle mode is how to only show the new simple presentation on phone/tablet size. I am not sure how to have a media query that doesn't show a particular page (ie, the full gallery) and does show my custom page with the gallery images without all the bells and whistles.

I think there is a show/hide option in queries, but maybe that isn't the best way to go. Why download pages that aren't needed?

Has anyone crossed this particular bridge yet? Sometimes explaining it makes the light come on. :-)

Thanks for any guidance from anyone who has experimented with this.
