HTML 5 Form Field Names & Server Validation Panel in DataBridge

I noticed that if a form field type is set type="tel" if one wanted to use HTML 5 form field convention for telephone, instead of type="text", the field(s) will not appear as selectable options in the WA Server Validations: Insert panel.

Is this intentional?
If not will there a fix or not?
