Matching two email fields and verifying captcha on entry rather than on submit

I am trying to finish up a form and having difficulty finding the answer to 2 issues/

1. I would like to do a "simple" confirm email entry between to fields after the second email field is entered (onBlur?) and show the error message at that stage rather than on submit.

2. On the same line - I would like to check the captcha and security question after they are entered rather than waiting for the long form to complete so before submit

Any help greatly appreciated as I have spent hours searching for these specific issues without success.

Thanks
