Saving changes to auto-generated DataAssist pages
Hallelujah, when DataAssist builds out those backend admin pages. So much appreciated - thanks.
Like others, I need to save - progressively - manual changes to those pages. Of course a lot of work goes in, ultimately, to the manual page changes. But it is also necessary to add to the database, and so progressively also to run DataAssist, again.
When DataAssist runs again, default behavior of course is to delete the existing pages. Hence, thereby doing in the manual changes, necessitating to start all over on the customization. Each time. Arrrgh ...
Are there any tools for both re-running DataAssist and saving / building on the manual changes?
For instance, can the opportunity to "save" the preset be triggered to run after the manual changes, but before anything is done in DataAssist, to save the manual changes into the preset? But, would the preset capture those changes?
Is there some other approach?
I know DW templates well. Have pondered creating a progressively updated template, with the manual changes progressively locked down. With each new auto-generated set of pages to have templates applied, subsequently, with the most recent, up to date templates. But that is a plethora of many locked-down bits, and templates. Messy, awkward. Nor is it possible to capture all the bits of customization in a template lock-down.
I have read through a number of the suggested threads, but not found this. In the end, I think it may be a big one. Thanks as always for the direction.
