Just before your header call where you are going to the next page try adding in the session commit like this:

session_commit

Or you can use the other one:

session_write_close()

The session_commit is an alias of session_write_close. Try putting this in place on the page just before the header call that redirects the user. On the new page make sure that you have a session_start() before you call the session variable.
