Thanks, It worked.
I did the same for the user-confirm.php page. I have a test page named access.php with User Verified restriction. Every time I clicked on the
"Thank you for verifying your email address. You may now access restricted content.", the link would fail and redirect to the userupdate.php page.
I moved the code to be after the recordset, but before the update
