Checkbox group - how do they work?

How do checkbox groups work? I think I have a need to use them!

I need to create a table of facilities for venues, and as more venues are added, I am sure more facilities will be added, so I am going to have a table of facilities. I was then hoping to be able to take that table and apply them to an insert and update page in data assist, but the wizard doesn't allow me to link the table to the page... it doesn't allow for dynamic data like a menu does, so how do I link this table to the pages that require it?.

Also, I am assuming that if I have a 20 facilities across all venues but each venue doesn't have all facilities, then I will be able to store the ID's of each facility as comma separated strings in a single DB field e.g.: 2,4,5,9,12,15

It seems there's two stumbling blocks (in my head anyway) with regards to this. The first is the insert/update pages, the second then being how to display the data once I have it inserted in the DB. I will need to separate each number into their own piece of info rather that means something to the viewer rather than display a string of numbers and commas.

I have read previous posts with regards to checkbox groups and tried to find the info in the help files, but can't see how they are implemented in data assist.

Thanks
