Ability to change validations on insert, update and search

Would it be possible to create data assist where we can have different validations for the insert, the update and the search pages. From memory and before data bridge, the step through process of data assist used to take settings from the insert page and then apply it to the update and the search pages.

It would be useful to have something where the validations could be set on the insert page as this is often where most validation is required, and then be able to remove any validations not required on the update, and certainly on the search page... after all, the search page really shouldn't have validation on it because the user might only want to search in a field that doesn't have any validation applied. Forcing a user to enter content in the search because the form won't submit will more often than not return no results even though there might be some in the DB.

Thanks
