Storing only the checked values in the database.

My database table contains the names of individuals, who belong to a section in a choir, and several sections belong to a group
For an event invitation, I have a scenario where I need the administrator to be able to select either
• all groups, (everyone in every group),
• a whole group, (everyone in every section),
• a whole section only,
• or people individually.
I created a repeating table from my recordset and have created some classes dynamically, so that clicking on an appropriate checkbox selects what I need.
What I now want to do is store the selected rows in the database.
I have tried adding the individual id’s to a simple array, but I want to store a number of fields, not just the id, and my knowledge of anything but simple arrays is limited
I tried using the dataassist multiple insert wizard, but this just stops my js from working.
I got the checkbox selection working now, so would be grateful as to an approach as to how best to do this.

Thanks
