Are you selecting the option to have a template file created for the email and selecting one of the pre built templates?

When you select the Create a File to manage the email option, and select the template to use, 2 files are created
1) Webassist/email/waue_<pagename>_<instanceNumber>.php <- Contains the settings for the email
2) Webassist/email/<templateDesign>_<integer>.php <- Contains the mail body, and includes code to automatically loop through the form elements on the page

if you don't check that option and Use the DW edit Button to create the email message, then only one file is created:
Webassist/email/waue_<pagename>_<instanceNumber>.php <- Contains the settings for the email, and the email body.

the tutorial you link to uses the case where the option to create the file for the email is checked.

I will let ray know the RTF option is missing from the new thread page.
