Removing fields/validation

Ok, I purchased this package really thinking this was a Dreamweaver extension, sadly it's not. There is no plug and play here, no interface. I had little difficulty getting the form up and running on its own page, since it would not embed in a template without completely ruining the layers.

Once I had the form configured to email me I tested it and it worked. I than attempted to remove the validation from the comments following the advice of two other threads in this forum and neither fix worked. I removed every line that was recommended for removal but still the form would not submit but instead simply reset itself. It would only send if I entered something in the comments box, no matter what I tried.

I also attempted to remove the captcha so I would only have the question (lots of people turn the other way with hard to see captchas) and again, the same situation. The form just resets. No red error line, I was able to remove that, but the form simply resets.

Is there anyone who has actually removed fields and validation successfully? Any help here would be greatly appreciated!
