Left-Column Nav using CSS Sculptor?

Hi, am new to the software tools, so I am certain this may have been asked before (the old forums?).

I am trying to create a left-column navigation using the automated tool-set of CSS Sculptor and CSS Menu Writer.

Now of course for horizontal navigation, WebAssist has conveniently added a button that makes the CSS Sculptor create space for the navigation.

But for left hand navigation? Do I presume I will have to hand code an additional DIV tag to push the left hand column down in order to fit the navigation in?

I would just stick it into the left left hand column, but I want the button to touch the top, left and right hand side so the padding and margins have to be set to 0. This obviously doesn't make the text line up...

Any suggestions?
