working with sessions

Hi Jason, I am thinking about a solution to a situation I have. currently I have International shipping set up nicely that allows the user on the checkout page to select a country and then select a shipping option, these get stored as a session on form post and also the shopping cart weight is already stored as a session upon entering the checkout page...then the delivery cost based on country+shipping option+weight is calculated on the checkout form post....however it would make sense to allow the customer to know the shipping cost before paypal....So I am wondering...can the sessions be created on some kind of form select box on click concept rather then a post? but obviously the recordset on the page that brings in the data for the shipping costs is set up like:

SELECT shippingcosts.*
FROM shippingcosts INNER JOIN shippinglocation on ShippingLocationZone = ShippingCostZone
WHERE ShippingCode = selcountry AND ShippingCostsType = seltype AND ShippingCostsWeightTo >= cartweight
ORDER BY ShippingCostsWeightTo

and that uses selcountry and seltype $_POST['country'] and $_POST['shippingoption']
So of curse that would need to change somehow....Im assumning I canot use $_GET as the calculation is created from the form select box. but how can I incoportate a form selecbox "on click" in the recordset?

Chris
