Hi, I had a google search but most users had problems with the localhost running slow in terms of the browser - im having problems with slowness in direct relation to the recordset dialog box opening up and webassist extensions dialog box opening up. I am attaching 2 screen shots od xaamp services and start up just in caser they highlight anything that I need to check. I have uninstalled also Skype, I have disabled windows 8 firewall and I have deactivated much of the start up processes.. I even went into the hosts file and uncommented 127.0.0.1 as noted on some forum posts after googling..But still the slowless of the dialog boxes...just wondered if there is anything else I need to check....I never had this problem on windows 7 using WAMPServer...only noticed it in Windows 8 using XAMPP..I also read about Windows 8 iis6 service conflict but that doesn't get installed or I cannot see any reference to it on my system.
