WebAssist loads very slow under Windows 8 and XAMPP

Anyone having issues with Windows 8 and WebAssist extensions??

I have tried a fresh Windows 8 restore using XAMPP for my local host and still the webassist extensions panels (such as the update server behaviour etc) takes an aweful long time to display (around 15 seconds).
