Clearing UPS shipping quote

I have a website that sells goods that ship with both FedEx or UPS. The products that ship with FedEx are all flat rate so I do even hit the FedEx server at all. The second group of products ships with UPS and are calculated based on weight. The problem I am having has to do with the fact that after a customer removes an item from the shopping cart where UPS shipping has been calculated, the shipping quote never gets removed from the shopping cart. I need a quick and easy way to CLEAR ALL UPS shipping quote data after a customer updates and removes these specific items from my shopping cart. Does anyone know how this can be done?

Thank you,
Robert Crespo
