Website Performance

I created a community website with a member directory and member post section. It seems my search pages are affecting the performance of my site ie the first time you load the search results pages they may not even load without having to refresh - Directory-Results.php

p-search-results.php

When I created the search page I used most all available fields thinking that if I wanted to be able to search those fields as the admin it would be there for me. Right now I have many fields hidden to the public and available to the admin, for performance reasons would it be better to have a separate admin page and public page where the public page has less available fields? It is much nicer for us to have the admin using the same page as the public that way we can be sure the public pages are working and looking nice...

Do you have any sugggestions or comments regarding performance?
