OK, thanks Jason.

So, in that respect, I have downloaded everything that I should have to my local folder, but there are some missing images for some reason, it's fine on the remote server that I am moving from. I have tried to download it a bit at a time and in doing so, I have now got an error message on the home page in the left and right pods:

function.imagejpeg]: Unable to open 'image_cache/~username/imagesupload/crop/abc_w207_h146/abc_09251137.jpg' for writing: No such file or directory in /website/folder/webassist/plugins/catalog/scripts/resize_image.php on line 213
webassist/plugins/catalog/scripts" class="popularImage" />

but resize_image.php is there...
