I have not had this issue before.
Are you saying the Search page is created with n code in it? or that it displays blank in the browser?
If no code:
What settings did you use when running the wizard?
Did you use one of the prebuilt application types?
Or start from blank?
On the manage pages tab, What columns did you select for inclusion in the Search page?
In the configure Field Settings section, how did you set those columns to display?
If blank in the browser:
a blank page means that a php error is occurring but error reporting is turned off.
to turn error reporting on, add the following code at line 1:

error_reporting(E_ALL);
ini_set('display_errors','on');
?>
once we know what the error is, we will be able to troubleshoot the cause.
