use classes to create different color schemes. for example:
this css creates a link1 class with one color scheme, and a link2 class with a different color scheme
<style type="text/css">
<!--
a:link {text-decoration: none}
a:visited {text-decoration: none}
a:active {text-decoration: none}
a:hover {text-decoration: underline}
a.link1:link {color: red;}
a.link1:visited {color: blue;}
a.link1:active {color: grey;}
a.link1:hover {color: black;}
a.link2:link {color: green;}
a.link2:visited {color: yellow;}
a.link2:active {color: purple;}
a.link2:hover {color: orange;}
-->
</style>
and to use the color schemes in the links, i set the class:
<a class="link1" href="page1.php">Link 1</a>
<a class="link2" href="page2.php">Link 2</a>
