Members area earning points/credits

I'm trying to build a feature just for a member's section of a site that allows the signed in member(s) to earn points/credits for various things they may do while visiting the site.
example:
create a thread = x points
reply to a thread = x points
time spent on the site = x points

These are just a few examples. I have the following questions:
1. With what tools from W.A. can I use to accomplish this? (I have W.A. Super Suite)
2. Are there any scripts already popular for this kinda thing?
3. I'm sure Im not using the correct terminology for this, so if someone could give me some correct terms to use, I have no problem googling.

thanks
