Blog Extension?

Just an idea, but one of the requests I hear all the time from people is they want a blog.

Sure, I get that people can power blogs using WordPress, Express Engine, etc... but the one problem that all those sites/template driven frameworks have is that a person is limited to the framework's extension.

In contrast, with WebAssist stuff and a bit of hand coding, I can build any application I want and have it do exactly what I want which is why I choose this route. But, I have been thinking about some things that would really speed up development overall and two things that come to mind are a Blog Extension and secondly, a Forum extension.

With the Blog Extension, though, I think it would be great to open a WebAssist wizard - pick the things we want to display on the blog such as date and it's styling, categories, tags, preview length, etc. Then we could simply sink it right into our client's sites.

I recently built my new site and blog on there using WebAssist tools, Dreamweaver behaviors, and hand coding... but thought it would be really cool if I could speed up the design of such an undertaking. You can view my creation here: blog.php
