Getting started with Dreamweaver and PHP requirement

Hello - I need help getting started. I have a mysql database ready on my hosting server. And I have a site in Dreamweaver. I did not create the site with PHP. I have also not created the secure content pages yet. We want to have users log in to view secure content. Most of the site is unsecure. I need help setting up and understanding these php pages. I have successfully set up the connection with Security Assist to the MySql php Server for the site. I have also attempted to create pages using Security Assist - login, registration, etc. The site is due Friday for a team to review and I'd like to have the login, register, and secure area feature completed. Here is what I have so far for the site - with no security on it yet.

I have a folder called members, behind which I intend to place all of the secure pages. Users need to be able to move throughout the site, though. To within, and without secure areas without having to log in over and over again. And, they need to be logged out when they leave the site. A secure SSL certificate will be attached once we go live with the organization's actual domain. for now this is on a testing server.

I hope I bought the right product for this. And I hope you can help direct me in setting it up. As I said , the client wants this ready for their focus group by Friday of this week. I am working now on secure content, setting up the Security Assist php pages for registering, logging in, lost password. The database connection has been successfully set up. This is new to me, but I'm a quick learn.
