Do I need anything from MySQL?

XAMPP installs an Apache web server for serving web pages.

It configures the PHP processor for the apache server so that PHP code added to your pages can be executed.

It installs the MySQL database server.

and Through the XMAP Controll panel, you can Launch the PHPMyAdmin page which allows you to manage the MySQL Database server for Creating new databases and adding table and viewing content.

to begin creating a Dynamic website that connects to a database, that is the basics of what you need.

The next step is to create the database your site will use. we offer a free eCommerce database here:

that you can use as a starting point. refer to the "How to import a MySQL (.SQL) file to your database" tutorial on the learning resources page for detail on installing the eCommerce database to your MySQL server:

With your database set up in the MySQL Server, you can begin defining your site in Dreamweaver and creating the database connection, there are further tutorials for these topics on the learning resources page
