viewing source of page, i see that there is a meta tag before the doctype:
<meta name="keywords" content="Cat surgery

Dog grooming,Pet orthopedic surgery,Dog orthopedic surgery,Pot bellied pigs,Laparoscopic spays,Dog dentist,Cat dentist,Pet x-rays

" />
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
this is forcing IE to use Quirks Mode rendering. In Quirks Mode, IE uses the IE5.5 rendering engine which has limited support for CSS.
the doctype tag must the first tag on the page in order for IE to render the page correctly.
Meta tags belong in the head of an HTML page. move the meta tag so that it comes after the <head> tag.
