Run both ColdFusion and PHP eCarts
Greetings again.
Last week, after sorting out my database issues, we finally did get eCart running. Because the store was selling digital products, we had set it up in PHP so we could also run Digital File Pro to handle downloading of the purchased files.
However, the rest of the domain where the store is located was set up early in 2008 within ColdFusion, mainly to handle event registrations, which had been free. Now the company also wishes to start charging for these events.
Ideally, since some interaction with the existing ColdFusion pages is going to be necessary, we thought about creating a second eCart on the same server, this time running in ColdFusion since we are also going to need to establish some connections with our existing event registration process.
So, we had a couple of questions:
First, is there any issue with running multiple carts on the same server, one in PHP and the other in ColdFusion
Second, if there aren't any issues with multiple carts, would there be any conflicts by having both ColdFusion and PHP code for the carts located within the same site. Namely, both PHP and ColdFusion files running from the same folder, (i.e. Store/WA_eCart)
Or would it be best to leave the PHP code in the "Store" folder, and run the ColdFusion version in a different folder just to avoid any possible conflicts.
Thank you again for any advice.
