Thanks Jason,
I found that the error provided ie line is about as helpfull as a dead duck, the index page is all html, so why theres an error on line 71, 70 or even 67 is all due to a previous include and not the actual html content on those lines.
I would suggest to add to the other post you mentioned that one should also check previous includes as they could also be the issue, especialy when there is no php code on the lines provided.
Thanks anyway, I basicly gave up now and scrapped the tracking script i had which was the real cause (included on line 30).
