when the software is activated, the activation is based on the Physical address of the active network card at the time. if you disable the network card when traveling it will cause the activation to be invalid and require that you connect to the internet to reactivate.
There are those that have problems with the activation due =to a fire wall that prevents the connection to our servers. for those people, we can manually create a license.dat file. If there where a condition that required "phoning home" every 30 days, we would need to keep generating these license files for these people behind walls. That would mean I would be to busy generating license files all day to answer questions here ;)
