Powermessenger Problem

I installed Powermessenger on a domain and have had to reactivate my Webassist passwords yesterday when setting up a new computer, now the site will not load properly and when I re enter the activation code it makes no difference. The navigation no longer loads and there are a lot of warnings on the top of the pages regarding the installed.png file.

Warning: fopen(../../Connections/installed.txt) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/porterpl/public_html/news/webassist/themes/Default/images/installed.png on line 31

Warning: fread(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/porterpl/public_html/news/webassist/themes/Default/images/installed.png on line 32

Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/porterpl/public_html/news/webassist/themes/Default/images/installed.png on line 34

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/porterpl/public_html/news/webassist/themes/Default/images/installed.png on line 35

I am aware that the connections folder holds the relevant information but I do not know what to change to get it to work again. I need this fixed urgently before I experience problems with the client and I dont want to pull it down and reupload it as all the files are in the install_pm folder
