Error when trying to add new products

When I follow the instructions to add new products I can get to the admin page and log in but when I click on "add new" from the drop down in products I keep getting the error that I have listed below. I have double checked the connection settings and the database name and password and all seems to be right. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is the error I receive:

Object not found!
The requested URL was not found on this server. The link on the referring page seems to be wrong or outdated. Please inform the author of that page about the error.
