It is probably a conflict with one of the other scripts you have running on that page.

The only way I can think to diagnose it would be to add the same map to a new page and see if it happens... my guess is it won't.

Then you can try removing various scripts on your original page or copying scripts to the new page until it breaks to identify the conflict. Then probably search the google forums for possible resolutions.
