Image Gallery and Powerstore

I am looking at the YouTube video.
Adding images Galleries in Powerstore 4
watch?v=kAe9k8WuoO8&feature=player_embedded

In the past when wishing to display a number of images for a products I reference the image path from a db table and the images can automatically show on the detail page. Very quick and easy.

To use The Image Gallery it does seem that a gallery has to be created for each product detail page individually and then the images are added to the gallery.
This seems to be a rather long process.

When updating shopping cart I usually have approx 100 new items that need adding each product using 3 or 4 images.

The creation of 100 new galleries seems rather daunting compared with updating 100 db table rows mainly using copy and paste.

Perhaps I misunderstand the method?

Can anyone enlighten me please.
Many thanks
John
