My suggestion would be to have a detection script that can figure out what type of device the visitor is using and redirect them to a few pages that are designed specifically for the mobile/tablet user. That is how I do it now.

The philosophy is that mobile users want a different type of information than the casual desktop/laptop user.

Meaning they are mobile so they may want directions to your business, or just less reading, or shorter forms to fillout.

These are not just my opinions they are from case studies and seo work I have done.
