Display total cart quantity in non-cart page

Display total cart quantity in non-cart page

I'm trying to show the total quantity of products in cart up in the page header, and this currently works fine on any pages that already include the ecart object.

The problem I'm running into, is on a few pages where I still want this quantity to show up but the ecart object was not included in the page.
I just need to find out what code to include so that the header code knows where to get the qty value from, OR the code to manually load the ecart object onto these pages.
