Modified User Registration Form

Hello,
I am looking for a solution where I have an area where a visitor simply puts in their email address (optional), city and state, and maybe a few other basic pieces of information and upon submitting is taken to a secure page to click a download link? I don't need them to technically "register" and go through the verification process etc... Rather I just need to gather some basic info before allowing them to pass through to the page with the pdf download. Is there a modification to the "user registration" product I have or do you have an alternate solution that might assist us with this request?
