Add to Cart problem

I'd like to build a little test site, but I don't want to waste my time... I had a lot of trouble getting the eCart going on my site...

Here's a question: What needs to be present on a site to start configuring the eCart?

I mean, when I try to attach eCart to a new site, I can't press on the New eCart Object button... I mean nothing happens... it's dead. It's like it's waiting for something.

I've never been able to find the answer to this question.
