Find Session Variable?

Would it be on my Insert Page, im only just getting into PHP. I have found on the insert page it has this code:

$WA_fieldValuesStr = "".$_SESSION['CustomerID']

But theres no Session Variable Assigned---$sessionid=session_id() or something like it

Am i heading in the right direction?
