form validation throws errors...

I have an existing form on the page, which has been 'inserted' using webassist css formbuilder. When I try to apply validations using client validations, I get the different form fields to choose from and the different types of validations to choose from.
If I then attempt to use the + to save any of the fields I immediately get an error:
when executing onLoad in WAFV_Alphnumeric_C.htm, the following JavaScript errors occured:

at line 81 of file
"C:/Users/mydirectory/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS5/en_US/Configuration/Commands/WAFV_Alphnumeric_C.js":
isThisACommand id not defined"

if it's any other type of field the field type changes, of course in the error
Win7, CS5
