multiple keyword search phrases

I don't follow what you are saying. If I search for deco or "deco" I get the same number of search results, and this includes results that have deco in the field (as in Art Deco) or the word decorative in the field. I don't want the search to pick up items that do not have deco as a distinct word. Is there a way to do this, even if I have to hand code it in?
