moving variable into cart

passing variables to the cart

Hi Jason,
Yes the items, quantity and price are being added for all products. What is not getting to the cart is the item number or bo message for items that do not have tabs(sizes). This means that: when the tables update, the item number or bo msg is not passed on for items that have no tab. Same is true with ppal. When I place an order and get to the sandbox, the item numbers show up for items with tabs, but if there is no tab it does not show up. Even if I use the inventoryid instead of the item number, the same occurs, items with tabs show the inventoryid and items without tabs do not. The item number is what the merchant uses for shipping and tracking. So it is important, I need to get that number to pass to the cart and then to ppal and then post onto the order_items table.
I know what is happening, I am using the rs that is used for the items with tabs, and this is where I am stuck. I have played with rs that I thought would cover items with and without tabs and they did not work.
Thank you,
