XML files

I set up a Power CMS installation for a client and it's working fine, although they've now sent me a bit of a curve ball. Part of the design of the site has a Flash-based scrolling news box at the head of the pages, with the content sitting in an XML file. Adding this to the cms wasn't part of the original brief, but the client is now saying they want to update this, so I'm looking for a simple solution which would allow them to update content without the risk of breaking something major.
I don't suppose that this is possible within PowerCMS, is it?
