Session variables not sent to database

Session variables not sent to database

I created some new fields in the checkout page and I'm trying to save them as session variables, have them post to the database on the confirm page, and then show up in the email. I've already posted with questions on how to do this, so I thought I new how. I created the form fields, created the session variables by going to eCart > General > set session value. I used the lightning bolt to select the trigger as the form element and the same thing for the value. And I opened the confirm page and created a dataassist single file upload behavior. Lastly, I added the session variable strings in the email. Nothing is showing up in either the email or the database, so I can't figure it out. I've attached my checkout.php page.
